Fabián’s experience has been focused on dam engineering for hydroelectric power projects and tailings storage facilities, including aspects such as geotechnical investigations and materials characterization, dam safety and monitoring, instrumentation analyses, landslide hazard analysis, and construction supervision. He has also been involved in site investigations and geotechnical analyses for bridge foundations and potable water supply infrastructure.
He currently specializes in the design, construction and operation of tailings dams.
Fabián holds a masters in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering from The University of British Columbia (UBC) as well as a masters degree in Project Management from the Costa Rican Institute of Technology (TEC).
