His experience in geotechnical engineering relates to the design and verification of slopes, excavations, tunnels, foundations and structures using analytical and numerical modelling methods in the mining and infrastructure industries. Ignacio has skills across critical state soil mechanics, soil hydraulics, numerical modelling, geotechnical testing programs – laboratory and field-based, and seismic analyses. He currently specialises in the design, construction and operation of tailings dams. His experience includes geotechnical assessments for open pit and underground mines, as well as civil engineering projects related to rail, metro, motorways and water supply. He has gained experience working in Australia, the Asia Pacific region and South America.
