Michael Dabiri

As an engineer in the mining environmental consulting space, Michael has worked across six continents, navigating diverse geographic, hydrologic, geologic, and cultural settings. He specializes in developing and implementing risk-informed mine water and waste management design strategies for mining projects. From the initial scoping and permitting stages to construction, operation, and post-closure, his expertise extends to sustainable mine closure planning and climate change adaptation.

His experience encompasses the design and construction of tailings and water management structures, including dams; tailings management system (TMS) development; dam safety inspections, reviews, and audits; risk assessment and management; mine closure planning; hydrometeorological assessments; climate change adaptation; water balance and water quality modeling; permitting support; and environmental compliance.
